Hi, I’m Kris. I’m a spatial experience designer and creative director, fueled by a passion for building immersive worlds. My diverse skills span immersive content development and production, HCI research, creator tools, product design, filmmaking, 3D real-time visualization, set design, and business and thought leadership. I'm excited to tackle next-level challenges in mixed reality and push the boundaries of spatial storytelling.
MY STORY
From childhood, I have been deeply passionate about creating immersive worlds, spending countless hours constructing miniature theaters in my grandparent’s basement. This early fascination transitioned into a love for filmmaking and was further cemented by my time studying to become a director and producer at NYU Tisch Film School. Post-graduation, I had the fortunate experience of working for the esteemed director Martin Scorsese on “The Wolf of Wall Street” in the art department, which reaffirmed my passion for set creation. Wishing to delve deeper, I returned to Tisch for graduate school to refine my skills in set design and digital rendering.
Following graduation, I worked as a concept artist and art director, contributing to various projects including Netflix's "Maniac". My role involved close collaboration with director Cary Fukunaga, leading to the creation of a unique visual language for the series and earning us a nomination for the Art Director’s Guild Award. During this time, I was drawn into the world of mixed reality, leading me to collaborate with Ken Perlin at the NYU Future Reality Lab. Together, we developed CAVE, a multi-user VR experience that aimed to revolutionize live entertainment.
I subsequently spearheaded an Augmented Reality (AR) project, "Mary and the Monster", and co-founded a startup, Parallux, dedicated to immersive mixed reality experiences. As Chief Creative Officer at Parallux, I collaborated with companies like Meta, Amazon, and Comcast, creating immersive experiences across various platforms, and overseeing the design of proprietary products. We were accepted into the Techstars Comcast/NBC Universal Accelerator program in 2022, an enriching experience that offered invaluable insights into product scaling, fundraising, and customer engagement.
