SUMMARY
Parallux was by San Diego Comic-Con, Veve, FutureTechLive!, and Unity to create virtual experiences that captured the unique atmosphere of the iconic convention floor during two consecutive years of COVID-19 restrictions.
APPROACH
As Creative Director, I envisioned a virtual experience that would celebrate pop culture, revive the energetic buzz, camaraderie, and community spirit of these events.
Collaborated with clients to define a distinct visual aesthetic inspired by Syd Mead, Mobius, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Mayan temples.
Produced 3D white model prototypes to refine the spatial layout and solidify the vision.
Led a team of developers and technical artists to develop an expansive VR and desktop experience with a myriad of features, including scavenger hunts, art exhibits, markets, dance parties, hidden Easter eggs, and space simulations.
RESULTS
The virtual experiences achieved remarkable success, with:
Over 3,000 unique visitors per day in 2020, spending an average of 1 hour immersed in the world.
Over 40,000 app downloads and 150,000 unique visits in 2 days in 2021, with users from 22 different countries.
$2.5 million in revenue generated through the sale of NFT art in 2021.
